Eating Disorders

Dieting, restricting, bingeing and overexercising are just the tip of the eating disorder iceberg. The emotions underneath these behaviors are where the key to recovery lies. You want to have a healthy relationship with food and your body but don’t see how it’s possible at this point. You feel out of control and stuck in a cycle of anxiety, guilt and shame. Let’s get to the root cause of your eating disorder so you can take back control and create a life after recovery.

Body Image Issues

Obsessing about your external appearance is exhausting and can stop you from truly living your life, even if you haven’t been diagnosed with an eating disorder. You’ve put your happiness on hold until you look a certain way and your negative self-perception is affecting your relationships, your daily life, and your ability to relax and enjoy the little moments. You want to shift your self-image and learn to trust and appreciate your body so you can enjoy your life.

If you are struggling with an eating disorder or body image issues, chances are you are also navigating other concerns such as anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, or other mental-health related challenges. Miranda’s style of treatment is integrative in nature, which means she takes the time to get to know you and your story, and puts together a holistic treatment plan that takes into account the many facets of who you are as a unique individual. She works within the framework of Health at Every Size®, and her mission is to help you regain trust in your body and yourself as a whole.

A Note to Parents

It’s so hard to watch your child struggle. It can feel scary to witness them experience body image issues or battle an active eating disorder.

Miranda collaborates with a team of professionals, including a dietician and pediatrician, to ensure your teen is getting the best possible care. She is happy to provide referrals, or will work with the care team you have assembled.
